📚 MyFice — User Guide

 ✅ 1. Purpose

MyFice is a personal bookmark manager that allows you to:

  • store links in a convenient tile grid;
  • drag & drop to reorder them;
  • organize by tags and categories;
  • quickly search the web or within your saved links;
  • export/import your link collections.

All data is stored locally in your browser (LocalStorage), ensuring privacy and independence from accounts.

✅ 2. Interface Overview

Top Bar

  • Menu (☰) — opens the sidebar.
  • MyFice Logo — link to the home page.
  • Global Search — search the web (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo).
  • Bookmark Search — search within saved links.
  • Tag Filter — display only links with a specific tag.
  • ＋ — add a new bookmark.
  • 🌙 / ☀️ — dark/light theme toggle.

Sidebar (Burger Menu)

  • About — help and documentation.
  • Title — edit collection title.
  • Export JSON/CSV — save bookmarks to file.
  • Import JSON/CSV — load bookmarks from file.
  • Clear All — delete all bookmarks.

Main Area

  • Bookmark Grid: each link appears as a tile with:
    • favicon (site icon),
    • title,
    • tag (if applied).
  • Hover over a tile to reveal the Options (⁝) menu:
    • Edit — edit the bookmark.
    • Delete — remove the bookmark.

✅ 3. Managing Bookmarks

Adding

  1. Click ＋.
  2. Enter the title, URL, and optionally select or create a tag.
  3. Save.

Editing

  • Hover a tile → ⁝ Options → Edit.

Deleting

  • Hover a tile → ⁝ Options → Delete.
  • When deleting the last bookmark, delete the tag as well.

Rearranging

  • Drag and drop tiles to reorder.
    ⚠️ Drag & drop is disabled while search or filtering is active.

✅ 4. Tags & Categories

  • Each bookmark can be assigned a tag.
  • Tags are color-coded automatically. One tag – one color.
  • Use the dropdown filter to show bookmarks by tag.
  • Active filters are shown above the grid as Category: [tag].

✅ 5. Export & Import

Export

  • JSON — saves the collection title and all bookmarks.
  • CSV — saves bookmarks in a table format.
    You can download these files as backups, create your own collections, and share them.

Import

  • Upload a previously saved .json or .csv.
  • Your collection will be restored, including the title.

✅ 6. Additional Features

  • Global Search: instantly search Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo.
  • Bookmark Search: filter saved links by name or URL.
  • Collection Title: customize the title displayed above your grid.
  • Notifications (toasts): appear when adding, deleting, exporting, or importing.
  • Themes: switch between light and dark mode (preference saved in LocalStorage).

✅ 7. Empty State (New Users)

When no bookmarks are added, the app displays a welcome message with a link to About (Help and Manual).
